I normally don't paint lighthouses but the canopy of rosa rugosa (wild beach roses) drew my eye on an August visit to Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. These beauties would normally be bloomed out by August, but last summer's abundant rain must have created a late flowering.
