One June day I was painting at a favorite cove on Little Deer Isle, where I normally choose the usual suspects: the water, the dock, the boats. The fisherman and clammers here usually give me a wide berth but on this day, a pair came up to my easel to admire the "purty pitchah" -- they liked it because there's NO boat!
