Dahlias are fussy (you have to dig the corms up each year and replant in the spring) but so worth it. This later-summer array posed happily in a vase made by my brilliant friend Vivian Pyle (www.vkpstudio.com) on a scarf purchased during my first shopping spree with girlfriends in more than two years. The second I saw the scarf at House of Logan, I immediately thought "dahlias"!
